- Our school was started under the leardership of the nuns of the Good Shepherd Denomination on the 25th of January 1928 and it was named as St. Francis English school. The Irish Mother Mary Bridget Landi was the first Headmistress and with a board of five teachers, they started teaching to thirty female students.
- In the year 1929, boys were also admitted and the number of students increased to 59. At that time the title of Principal was held by Mother Mary Angel Gardian and the year 1930 this school was recognized as a Government aided school providing education in English medium and from then on it was called the Good Shepherd Convent.
